Changing the applications associated with the files

By ppepote1

The files have an extension formed by several letters written after the next point behind the file name. For example,

1.- .txt for text files.
2.- .xls for Excel spreadsheets.
3.- .html files to the hypertext pages of the web.
4.- .jpg for JPEG compressed images.

The extensions of the files is the only way to have Windows files to distinguish from each other. Without the extensions, the system does not know he has to do with each file that the user or the system handles.

You usually do not have to worry about the extensions. For this reason the extensions hidden. If we want to get higher returns to our operating system is better than the extensions are visible.

For example, to be able to associate them with a multitude of applications that can handle different ways. Proceed as follows:

1.- CONTROL PANEL.

2.- APPEARANCE AND THEMES.

3.- FOLDER OPTIONS.

4.- SEE AND REMOVE THE MARK checkbox.

5.- In the HIDE FILE EXTENSIONS FOR KNOWN FILES TYPES, remove the mark.

From now on, the files appear with their corresponding extensions.

To see the applications associated with each type of file, proceed as follows:

1.- CONTROL PANEL.

2.- FOLDER OPTIONS.

3.- TYPES OF FILE.

Here you can change the applications associated with each file type and can make new partnerships to be able to do more things with the files apart from the default.

For example, with the right button we can see an image, send it by mail directly from here, edit them with any application of image manipulation, print and many other things.
